So that all participants are aware, the draw for both the Singles and the
Cricket league was done on drawing blind lots to be fair to all. If by chance
(or pure bad luck) you have a weak group (especially in cricket), then blame
your fairy Godmother for not looking after you. (PS- Inform her that the
Clubhouse is strictly for men so she shouldn’t show up there either :->).
Singles League Rules:
Game played on best of two – 301 (2 points for a win, 1 each for a tie).
Closest to bull starts the game with loser starting the next game.
Player must open and close a game with hitting a double (or bull).
Minimum of 20 points counts as a score unless players score is less than 100.
Semis will be played on best of 3 (301) basis.
Finals will be best of 3 (501).
If a foot crosses over the line or a person happens to trip over the line and releases his dart, the throw counts for no points and may not be re-thrown.
Darts must stay on the board for at least five seconds after a player's FINAL throw to count. A throw does not score if it sticks into another dart or if it falls off the board.
Top 2 places in every group get a straight bye to the quarters.
Last (or last 2) places in the group get eliminated.
The 3rd to 6th place go to the second round knockout stage leading to the quarters (see second round tree).
In case of any discrepancy, the organizers (or referee in case of organizer not being there or playing) decision will be final.
Teams will select the order of batting/bowling before the game starts and that will stay the same for the entire game.
Choice of bowling/batting will be selected via “closest to bull” method.
Bowlers always play first.
Match consists of 6 wickets
Bowling/Batting are done successively in the order chosen.
Top 8 teams go straight to quarters. Last 2 teams get eliminated. Finals based on 10 wickets (if time permits).
In case of any discrepancy, the organizers (or referee) decision will be final.
Bowling:
Bowler has to hit the bull’s eye to take wickets. Hitting the red eye claims 2 wickets while the green eye claims 1.
If a bowler strikes any zone outside the triple line, those points count for the batting team as extras.
Darts must stay on the board for at least five seconds after a bowler's FINAL throw to count.
If a bowlers dart hits anywhere outside the dartboard or falls down, then an extra 10 points are awarded to the batting team.
Batting:
Batsman scores points by hitting any area on the dartboard apart from the bull’s eye.
Darts must stay on the board for at least five seconds after a bowler's FINAL throw to count.
If batsman hits the bull’s eye (red or green) then his team loses only 1 wicket.
If batsman hits any area outside the scoring part of the dart board or his dart falls then his team loses 1 wicket.
If the batting team reaches a score of 1000 points, it must declare.
Scoring
and Winning:
To win a game, you must have scored more points than the other team (just like normal cricket).
In case of a batting side declaring after scoring 1000 points, the chasing team must make the same score or higher with less wickets lost to win.
Points are awarded in the following manner – 1 point for taking all 6 wickets, 1 point for scoring 1000 points and 1 point for a win (Maximum 3 points).
